Member Journey

Drive conservation through community-lead impact projects

  • Support marine conservation with Lumi Reef by purchasing a Lumi Reef membership. Proof of membership comes in the form of a certificate and PNG image of a Lumi Reef character. 70% of revenue is held in a treasury for impact investments dedicated to Blue projects.

    Alternatively, community members can redeem a Lumi Reef membership by earning points while completing Sustainability Quests, ranging from signing pledges and petitions, learning about ocean conservation through media and literature, as well as taking IRL action.

  • Propose, deliberate, and vote on target projects. From conservation projects including coral propagation and animal adoption, to sustainable ventures such as eco fashion, agriculture, and toys, our fund targets projects that drive marine conservation while bringing unique benefits to our community.

  • Complete Sustainability Quests and continue to learn, act, and help spread the word on marine conservation. Your participation levels up membership and earns you priority access to community benefits.

  • Invitations to international scuba expeditions, royalties from impact investments, and access to community resources, seed funding, and mentors that empower you to make your own mark in marine conservation.

Why Lumi Reef NFTs?

  • Our model encourages members to propose, discuss, and vote on projects that they believe to be most deserving of their funds. The intention is for individuals to share new ideas and spark debate on how to donate with intention and impact.

  • Many of our members will be scientists and conservationists doing work in the field. This project serves as a platform for them to raise awareness of what they’re doing - a chance to showcase their impact and pitch for a share of our funds.

  • While traditional donations are often a one-and-done deal, our donation model targets projects that bring benefits to our community, whether that is discounts to scuba expeditions, access to scientific publications, royalties and dividend from sustainable business investments.

  • We encourage our members to complete sustainability challenges, attend guest lectures in marine biology, and help spread the word on marine conservation. Engagement is rewarded with leveled up characters, boosted voting weight, priority access to community benefits.

  • Our discord and social media accounts serve as platforms for people to meet fellow ocean lovers, network, and collaborate on personal projects.
